Privacy & Data Protection

Q: Does actualiz have access to my work?
A: No, actualiz cannot access your work. Everything you create—scripts, beat sheets, character profiles—remains private to your account.

Q: Does actualiz use my work to train its AI models?
A: No. Your content is entirely yours and is not used by actualiz for AI training.

Q: Will actualiz ever sell or share my work?
A: Absolutely not. We will never sell, share, or license your work to third parties. You maintain full ownership and control of everything you create on actualiz.

Q: What project data does actualiz have access to?

actualiz currently is able to see:

  • Project names so we are able to troubleshoot issues if requested
  • Project genre, so we can personalize communications
  • Limited information when you are using the generative tools
    • We can see story beats and small snippets of the script being generated in order to make sure our intricate system is functioning at a mechanical level
    • We can only see this limited data the first time a project is generated and it is solely used for troubleshooting and improving our script generation flows
    • Now that we are moving out of our furst beta phase, this is scheduled to be modified so that this data is only visible with scripts generated by admins of actualiz, and not with scripts generated by users
    • We can NEVER see any work that is manually created by the user

Q: With the data you can access, what makes it safe so my ideas aren’t stolen?
A: The short answer? We have zero interest in trying to develop other people’s ideas.

We’re a software company and are focused on our product roadmap – it’s much more ambitious and exciting 🙂 we’re really going to shake things up for indie filmmakers in an awesome way.

Longer answer, ideas are just ideas. You have to go through the work of completing the script first, which we have no access to, then the process of selling the script, which is a very laborious, time-consuming process to do for a single script, let alone thousands. And even if we did, the legal issues we’d be open to would eliminate any and all possible gains from doing something like that.

It’s a stupid idea even if we were interested doing something like that–which again, we’re not.

And if that’s not good enough for you, our roadmap will make that very clear in the coming months.

Look, we get the concern. Truly. But if you’re afraid of your ideas being stolen, you will never be able to even talk about your screenplay idea, let alone try to sell or produce it. And guess what you need to do to improve your script, try to sell it, or produce it? You have to talk to people and get their feedback.

We’ve talked to dozens of people about actualiz before it existed in order to get feedback and we talked to people with the means to do what we’re doing, and guess how many people stole our idea? None.

Again, we’re a sofrware company working on leveling the playing field for indie filmmakers, so more indie films get made and seen. We have to collect some data to refine our product, that’s just part of developing products.

But we can’t see what you’re working on outside of the very limited data we collect that we state above.

We want you to make your film, not us, not studios, not anyone else. You.

Q: Can I export my work from actualiz?
A: Yes! You can export your scripts and other content as professionally formatted PDFs at any time. Your projects are always accessible and ready for download.

Q: How do I delete my projects if I no longer need them?
A: You can delete projects directly from your account. Once deleted, your content is permanently removed from our servers and cannot be recovered.

You also have the option to archive your work. This removes the project from your active projects (meaning it no longer counts towards your limits) and is no longer editable, but can still be restored.

Script Editor

Q: Can I rearrange scenes in the Script Editor?
A: Absolutely! Our Script Editor allows you to drag and drop scenes, ensuring your story flows exactly the way you want it to.

Q: Does the Script Editor auto-format my screenplay?
A: Yes! The Script Editor automatically formats your screenplay to industry standards, so you can focus on writing without worrying about structure.

Q: What file formats can I export my script in?
A: You can export your script as a professionally formatted PDF, ready to share with collaborators, producers, or competitions.

Character Builder & Production Tools

Q: What is the Character Builder, and how can I use it?
A: The Character Builder lets you create detailed profiles for each character in your story, including physical attributes, backstory, personality traits, and reference images. These profiles help you write more authentic characters and serve as valuable references for actors.

Q: How do the budgeting and catalog tools work?
A: Our budgeting tool helps you track production costs, while the catalog feature lets you organize and manage your film’s elements (props, locations, costumes, etc.). Together, they streamline your pre-production process.

Q: Can I create multiple characters and track them in my story?
A: Yes! Every character you add to your script is automatically added to your Character Library, where you can expand and refine their profiles.

Billing & Subscription

Q: Do I need a credit card for the free trial?
A: No, you don’t need a credit card to start your free 7-day trial.

Q: How can I manage or cancel my subscription?
A: You can manage your subscription settings by logging into your account and navigating to the billing section. There, you can update your plan or cancel at any time.

Q: What types of paid plans do you offer?
A: actualiz currently offers two plan types, Independent and Studio. They can either be billed monthly, or annually for a discount.

The two plans both offer the same access to all of the actualiz tools and allow for unlimited script generation.

The Independent plan allows you to have 3 active projects at a time and the Studio plan allows you to have 7 sctive projects at a time,
